2. About Pokok Capital
Pokok Capital Pte. Ltd. is a financial education provider based in Singapore. Our programmes are designed to support adults in their forties and older in understanding their household finances, investment fundamentals, and estate documentation within the Singapore context.
Pokok Capital is not a licensed financial adviser, fund manager, or insurance intermediary under the Financial Advisers Act (Cap. 110) or the Securities and Futures Act (Cap. 289). Our programmes constitute financial education only and do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or legal advice of any kind.
3. Enrolment and Registration
3.1 Enquiry and confirmation
Submitting an enquiry through the website does not constitute enrolment. Enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of a written confirmation from Pokok Capital and payment of the required programme fee.
3.2 Eligibility
Our programmes are designed for adults aged 18 and over. Content is oriented towards participants in their forties and older, and is set within the Singapore administrative and regulatory context. Participants are responsible for determining that a programme is suitable for their circumstances before enrolling.
3.3 Cohort sizes
Each programme cohort is limited in size to support a small-group learning environment. Places are allocated in order of confirmed payment. Pokok Capital reserves the right to close enrolment when a cohort is full.
3.4 Programme scheduling
Session dates and times are communicated upon enrolment. Pokok Capital reserves the right to reschedule sessions in the event of unforeseen circumstances and will provide advance notice wherever possible.
4. Programme Fees
Current fees for each programme are as follows:
| Programme | Duration | Fee (SGD) |
|---|---|---|
| Reviewing the Household Trunk | 5 weeks | S$315 |
| Tending the Canopy | 8 weeks | S$465 |
| The Roots | 6 weeks | S$605 |
All fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars and are inclusive of any applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) where Pokok Capital is GST-registered. Pokok Capital will notify participants of any change to fees prior to the next enrolment cycle.
5. Payment Terms
Full programme fees are due prior to the commencement of the first session. Payment methods and instructions will be provided upon enrolment confirmation. A place in a cohort is not secured until payment has been received and confirmed by Pokok Capital.
If payment is not received by the date specified in the enrolment confirmation, Pokok Capital reserves the right to release the allocated place and offer it to another participant.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
6.1 Cancellation by participant
- More than 14 days before programme commencement: Full refund, less a S$30 administrative fee.
- 7 to 14 days before programme commencement: 50% refund of the programme fee.
- Less than 7 days before programme commencement: No refund. At Pokok Capital's discretion, a credit towards a future cohort may be offered.
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. The date of receipt of the written cancellation request will be used to determine the applicable refund amount.
6.2 Withdrawal after programme commencement
No refund is available once a programme has commenced. If a participant is unable to continue due to documented medical or compassionate circumstances, Pokok Capital will consider requests for a credit towards a future cohort on a case-by-case basis.
6.3 Cancellation by Pokok Capital
If Pokok Capital cancels a cohort before commencement (for example, due to insufficient enrolments or unforeseen circumstances), participants will receive a full refund of the programme fee. Pokok Capital's liability in such cases is limited to the return of fees paid.
7. Programme Content
All programme content, including session outlines, workbooks, reading lists, and summary templates, is provided for educational purposes only. Content is set within the Singapore regulatory, legal, and administrative context as it stands at the time of programme delivery.
Regulatory requirements, CPF rules, HDB policies, estate planning frameworks, and tax treatment are subject to change. Pokok Capital takes reasonable steps to ensure content reflects current practice but cannot warrant that all materials reflect the most recent legal or regulatory position at any given time. Participants are encouraged to verify information relevant to their own circumstances with qualified professionals.
8. Conduct and Participation
Participants are expected to engage with the programme in good faith and to treat instructors and fellow participants with courtesy and respect. Pokok Capital reserves the right to remove a participant from a programme — without refund — if conduct is disruptive, offensive, or otherwise incompatible with a collegial learning environment.
Session recordings, if made available, are for the personal use of the enrolled participant only and may not be shared, redistributed, or published in any form.
9. Intellectual Property
All programme materials, including workbooks, templates, session notes, and documentation frameworks, are the intellectual property of Pokok Capital Pte. Ltd. and are provided under a personal, non-transferable licence for the enrolled participant's own use.
Participants may not reproduce, distribute, sell, adapt, or publicly share programme materials in whole or in part without prior written permission from Pokok Capital. This restriction applies during and after programme participation.
10. Disclaimer
Pokok Capital's programmes are financial education courses. They do not constitute, and should not be construed as, financial advice, investment recommendations, legal advice, or tax advice.
Instructors may reference Singapore legislation, CPF rules, HDB policies, and other regulatory frameworks for illustrative purposes. This does not constitute legal or regulatory advice. Participants should consult a licensed financial adviser, solicitor, or other qualified professional before making financial or legal decisions.
Pokok Capital makes no representation that completing a programme will result in any specific financial outcome, improved portfolio performance, or any other measurable benefit. Outcomes depend on individual circumstances, decisions made, and factors outside Pokok Capital's control.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Pokok Capital's total liability to any participant — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — arising from or in connection with a programme shall not exceed the programme fee paid by that participant.
Pokok Capital shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, including loss of earnings, loss of investment returns, or any financial loss arising from decisions made by a participant in connection with programme content.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law.
12. Privacy and Data
The collection and use of personal data in connection with programme enrolment and participation is governed by our Privacy Policy. By enrolling in a programme, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described in that policy.
13. Website Use
The Pokok Capital website is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Pokok Capital reserves the right to modify or withdraw website content at any time without notice.
Links to third-party websites are provided for information only. Pokok Capital is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any linked site.
14. Amendments
Pokok Capital may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date. For participants currently enrolled in a programme, material changes to terms will be communicated by email.
Continued use of the website or participation in a programme following any published update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
